On the way home from work Monday my cousin Joanne contacted me about our aunt Ginny. Joanne does a lot to take care of our mutual aunt, and has been told that the nursing home she’s at has reported changes in personality and behavior.
So, I stopped by to see her on my way home, and she seemed much as normal before.
The longest day of our year was this week.
Tuesday we had dinner with my wife’s family.
I went to the dentist Thursday to get my final crowns, and found this on the magazine rack. Not a comedy piece…
I had the new crowns installed.
Good I got photos of them…
Friday we picked up our friend ravena_kade at the train station. Lots of folks were headed into town for the parade for the Boston Celtics who won the basketball championship this year.
Then, off to New Jersey. The traffic was not good.
We had lunch at the diner we like across from the tanks.
Then, off to the site to set up.
It was quite warm. More than 35C.
The others getting there were late due to highway closures. Some didn’t get in until almost midnight.
Saturday morning when the troupe got ready to perform, my wife and I drove across New Jersey, Delaware and into Maryland to attend my cousin’s memorial service. It was about a 2 hour drive.
We met at the vacation home my cousin Brian and family had near where his mother had lived. Lots of folks from his father’s side of the family were there. Not many from his mother’s other than us.
Nice place.
The memorial service was very nice. They had a lunch for everyone afterwards.
Afterwards we followed my cousin’s husband to the small home they had shared at the retirement home.
He did show us her 500 year old chest with a secret key hole that is hard to get open.
His PhD dissertation is in it. I guess no one has tried to force the lock to get a copy…
Then, back across the river to Brian’s rental house.
Then, we all visited until dinner while my wife roamed the property looking at ospreys and golden beetles.
Then, as the sun was setting the drive back to the faire site.
Sunday we performed with the troupe as we normally do.
Photos of the shows here:

One of the troupe members said they thought they saw something fly away from me when I had sneezed. But, despite 13 folks searching the field it had been in, it was not found.
Then back on the road home.
Again, bad traffic.
Today I had another job interview, but I don’t think I did well at it.
And, another tooth came loose.
I see the dentist Thursday. He says he won’t charge me for the replacements. Good as they were $1200 each…
