Hello from the Pacific Northwest!

Sorry I didn't get to do my last round of reviews and top books before the end of the year, but things got crazy and then before I knew it I was visiting family in Seattle and skiing up in Whistler, Canada. Well, I hope the past week doesn't set the tone for the rest of 2010, because it kicked my a**!  Despite staying at work late, I went to bed most days thinking of what I still had to do, which is never a good sign. TGIF - seriously.

Now that I’m back home, I am really thankful that I got to spend Christmas with my family in Seattle. My aunts say that I haven’t had spent Christmas with them since I was two or three years old, back in the Philippines; as for my dad, it must be at least twenty years since he spent the holidays with his parents. Wow, I haven't written in here in a while.

I'm finally here in Seattle, on break for the holidays, and I am so relieved. More than I can ever remember in previous years. This semester has just kicked my ass. Man, my bum is so effin sore.I went skiing yesterday, finally. And I am sure as glad I opted not to learn how to snowboard because skiing was hard enough, at first. I had an hour and 45 minute lesson, in which things seemed pretty simple: you stop by crossing your skis like a pizza; you lean forward for balance; and you turn by nudging one ski ( Read more... )

We went all the way to the bottom of the mountain...and found out the power was out, so no ski lifts were running and the whole place had shut down for the day. The powder looked fresh and untouched too.

So, so bummed.
