My sister goes to college in upstate New York, and in between dropping her off on campus each year, I've also taken advantage of the opportunity to see more of the region, in particular the Finger Lakes. It's at least a five hour drive from New York City, but it always feels like a totally different state. There are lots of farms, wineries, scenic state parks, and small town charm all around. This time, we explored Watkins Glen State Park.
Watkins Glen State Park follows this long gorge that has numerous waterfalls and pools.
This was the biggest waterfall, and visitors are also able to walk the slippery path behind it. I also caught a glimpse of a small bat flapping around at the base of the waterfall.
My traveling moose made a friend.
