chub rub testimonial, solution and product review. sorry, tl:dr

I whined mentioned on my blog that I used to hoard my solution to chub-rub: the "Slimming Skirt Liner" from Comfort Choice, which are basically the top from control-top pantyhose, and not "slimming" in any way unless you sized down. They were kinda perfect -- super super lightweight and breathable, didn't show under clothes, no "swamp ass" or ( Read more... )

"The material is SUPER soft and very opaque -- they are essentially capri-length tights (NOT LEGGINGS)."

Opaque means you can't see through them... but it sounds like to be tights they would be more transparent?

uh... i'm pretty clear on the definition of opaque, but thank you for your concern that i might not, in fact, understand the definitions of the words i choose.

i think most non-language- & grammar-policing people understand what it means when the word "opaque" is used to describe hosiery. in fact, it's pretty common.

i guess you tried to be snarky... and failed? but if you are truly serious and don't understand what is meant by a pair of tights being opaque, please either send me a message to my LJ, or try Google.

Actually, you'd said they weren't like leggings at all, but were opaque tights, and to me that's pretty much the same thing... so I was trying to clarify before ordering.

in that case, please accept my apology for taking your comment as snark and responding in kind.

In my experience, leggings are made from a jersey-like fabric, which is what makes them acceptable to wear as pants. tights, on the other hand, are like a thicker version of pantyhose and are generally considered to be opaque.

these shorts, then, are like a pair of opaque black tights.

i really can't give any more detail than this, as this discussion about what constitutes "opaque" is giving me a headache. i thought, and still believe, the term universal in terms of hosiery.

No worries... I wasn't very clear in asking and I'm sorry it came across poorly! I am currently a 14/16 but this is after losing 168lbs so I have a lot of excess skin and chub rub is more of a problem for me now than it ever was before. Thank you for the response!
