I whined
mentioned on my blog that I used to hoard my solution to chub-rub: the "
Slimming Skirt Liner" from Comfort Choice, which are basically the top from control-top pantyhose, and not "slimming" in any way unless you sized down. They were kinda perfect -- super super lightweight and breathable, didn't show under clothes, no "swamp ass" or

according to my eshakti measurements, my hips are about 53" or 54"... so i would say yes to 60", that would probably be the max -- but really, that's just my guessing and stretching them out while i'm wearing them right now. also, keep in mind i have a relatively flat ass, so there is probably more extra room for my thighs. at $8, i'd still give them a try, and just have them shipped to the store for free (or see if they are in stock at a store close by).
kmart is SHIT at providing measurements and sizing.
i'm really sorry i haven't been more helpful than this.

I will add, though, that they were sliding down to mid-knee this afternoon. The best adjustment was in pulling them up a little higher at the thigh, rather than at the knee, so they'd stay up -- which they have.
So, if I want a shorter length, I'll probably wear the 3x, and for longer skirts/dresses (most of mine are midi anyway) the 4x will be perfect.

Opaque means you can't see through them... but it sounds like to be tights they would be more transparent?

i think most non-language- & grammar-policing people understand what it means when the word "opaque" is used to describe hosiery. in fact, it's pretty common.
i guess you tried to be snarky... and failed? but if you are truly serious and don't understand what is meant by a pair of tights being opaque, please either send me a message to my LJ, or try Google.

In my experience, leggings are made from a jersey-like fabric, which is what makes them acceptable to wear as pants. tights, on the other hand, are like a thicker version of pantyhose and are generally considered to be opaque.
these shorts, then, are like a pair of opaque black tights.
i really can't give any more detail than this, as this discussion about what constitutes "opaque" is giving me a headache. i thought, and still believe, the term universal in terms of hosiery.

i moisturize my entire body, head to toe, daily, and have done this for more than 20 years, and it has never stopped my thighs from chafing. so while it's possible that your baby oil might be causing some kind of anti-chafing effect, based on my own personal experience it's not really possible. it's like, when you touch your armpit after you put on deodorant -- it's feels slick, like you're not really touching your skin. but when you oil up your body, it doesn't necessarily feel like that.
but we all have different bodies and different remedies for shit, so maybe that's what does it for you.
