My job is...interesting. I'm learning a lot. It's like my second family - well, I'm not personal with them yet but will be in time - they're very informal and understanding and that's awesome. ^^ Lesse if I can get some down.... o-o
There's my supervisor Becky, she's very nice! She's the one who interviewed me, actually. She's in charge of the whole lab. Poor thing has tons of stuff to do. When she first got her job she was all "Im getting gray hairs!" hehe. She has that disorder where you can't eat anything with gluten. Poor, poor thing. ;-; Her husband works at Kent as a security guard! Hee.
The evening supervisor is Glenn, he's very nice too and friendly. Always asks me how I'm doing. ;;; Actually, everyone does that.. awh. I'm not used to that at all! I rarely got that - and have it mean something - at my last job. Hrph. Anyway! He understands that I might be late coming into work cuz I'm coming straight from URI... and he understands the weather thing, too. Yay.
Cindy is the Jade-mom thing I mentioned earlier (Yes it still hurts to think about it). She's always talking about alcohol. Her and Barbara are biffles. xD MAD SCIENTIST WARNING! She likes to put her margharitas in beakers. I kid you not.;;;
Barbara is funny. She has such a voice one would find in an anime. It's hard to describe. She also has tons of nicknames for things and everyone. Kind of like Norma from Tales of Legendia. XD She's always talking about drinking. I think her and Cindy go out after work and drink. Both of them keep talking about "corrupting" me...which I'm assuming is bringing me out to drink with them. Bah. :P
Stephanie is "new" ish and is currently being trained in all departments though she's been working at the hospital for 6 yrs. She's new because she used to only work in Chemistry but she switched to nights and now is being crosstrained to make rotations. She has a kid and husband. ;P Steph's the youngest of all MTs-- 24 yrs. o-o Carmen is also young, though I think she's 25, 26? Carmen's italian and quite cute at times. xD Both of the girls are funny and friendly and sweet like they were my mom(;;;;), calling me "honey" and "dear" and stuff. Awwh. ^_^ Also I'm taller than Steph! Wow! XD
Then there's Steve. He's the middleman, the resident paranoid and the guy who had like eight cups of coffee when he was training me (jeez!). Steve also has some sort of history with a purple pen. (??) Stephanie and some other girl were teasing him about using a purple pen (gayyyy). I dunno the whole thing, I wasn't there. xD Anyway he usually breaks up fights in the lab between Louis and Janice (...) or so I've heard. XD;;;;
Lyn is cool. She's helpful to me. All MTs are helpful. >-> Corrine is a badass - tattoos and piercings and alcohol, oh my! She also has like, death metal playing at her section of the lab, wow. XD Louis is another MT/CLS and she's quite snarky... XD like almost all of the others too. Hmm. Sometimes she sits at dinner with her husband (I think that's him, at least - he works at the hospital too? Brings her food for dinner to share). ^^ That's so nice, hee! Wish I could do that. ;;;; Fred I barely see cuz he only works Friday nights. Fred reminds me of my dad... o-o... not quite sure why.
And EVERYONE who works in the lab knows my advisor, Greg. They keep asking me how he is. xD;;;; Greg used to work as a phleb at the hospital. ^^ SMALL WORLD IS SMALL.
There are sooo many more people who work in the lab but I just named a few. xD
WORK ASIDE, MY GUMS FREAKING HURT. I think I have an infection. Wh-whaaaaattttttttt. T_T
I got nominated into the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. My dad didn't care when I told him. He never does... even when I get awards 'n stuff. Oh well. It's not like I was ever looking for praise or attention cuz I never get any to begin with. Hm. And I never get any gifts for doing well either... my family doesn't give two shits about education - even tho my dad is a professor (...) - so when stuff regarding it comes up, I get no respect or recognition. Oh well. At least someone else out there cares cuz I have been getting these awards...and even that little bit means something to me, even if it's from a complete stranger. :(
