Been reading some of the Sherlock Holmes stories and they're great fun.  It felt wrong fangirling the movie without having ever read the books.  Literary temerity; I has it.  I've even come across some lines that are directly quoted in the movie.  Most of them are great fun at least, some have these looong boring setups with Holmes not doing much more than explaining it.   But anyway, from what I gathered from pop culture I thought they'd be stodgy, but there's a lot of humor there.  Nobody told me Holmes was an antisocial weirdo and Watson was an intelligent war-traumatized slice of awesome.  Holmes is continually dragging Watson in or out of rooms or linking arms with him to drag him to or away from doing something illegal.  So yeah, the bromance is canon.  And the fandom, geez, very impressive.  I guess it's had some time to build up and all.  Just read this poem, it's precious.   Nothing wrong with being late to things, I guess.

Anyway, Watson is easy to draw, but Holmes is trickier.  Kind of going with the original descriptions but keeping the wild RDJ hair and boho clothes.  I really like how this came out.  Deserving of a background and color I'm thinking.

"By the way, Doctor, I shall want your co-operation."
"I shall be delighted."
"You don't mind breaking the law?"
"Not in the least."
"Nor running a chance of arrest?"
"Not in a good cause"
"Oh, the cause is excellent."
"Then I'm your man."
"I was sure that I might rely on you."
