Magika - Chapter 2
Ninomiya Kazunari felt so bored. He thought of asking his other half, Aiba Masaki to go and put a prank on other students but before he managed to do so, Sakurai Sho had snatched the other guy. As it was still early for him to go to his class, he roamed around his dormitory before finally deciding to disturb his other best friend, Matsumoto Jun. That boy has never shared a room before so he wanted to see the poor boy that has to put up with J’s weird schedule.
His dormitory, crocinus is actually very near to puniceus, J’s dormitory. As he walked to puniceus, he took notice of his surroundings, take mental notes of a good place to plan his prank. The ghost of the puniceus dormitory stared at him as he got closer; probably thinking why a crocinus like him would be here so early in the morning.
“Yo, I need to see J, so, would you open the door for me?” without asking anything, the ghost opened the door to let him in. The perks of being the descendants of the founders. You have access to go to any dormitory unless you caused a trouble. Now, where is J’s room? He said that his room is the third room in the second level.
Nino went ahead to the stairs and started climbing the stairs to get to the second floor. As he was about to knock the door, it was opened from the inside to reveal a short guy with spiky sandy hair and chubby cheek. He was mesmerized by the other guy’s beautiful eyes that he forgot his intention for coming to the room.
“Are you looking for someone?” the soft voice of the other boy brings him back to reality. He has a very sweet voice, as if he was singing.
“Is this J’s room?” asked him and the boy looks confused before Nino realized his mistake. No one called Matsumoto Jun, J. He is the only one who call him J so of course this cute chubby cheek guy do not know who he was talking about.
“Sorry, my mistake. I’m looking for Matsumoto Jun,”
“Oh, he just gets into the bathroom,” said the guy. Nino looked at his watch. He wondered how long has J been in the bathroom.
“How long has he been there?”
“10 minutes, I think,”
“Okay, so another 20 minutes of shower and 10 minutes of getting dressed. Too long, I don’t want to wait for him anymore. Are you going to the dining hall for breakfast? Let’s go together,” said Nino as he unconsciously took the other guy’s hand and was surprised to feel how the other guy’s hand fit perfectly into his. As the other guy didn’t complain anything about it, he swings both of their hands as they walked together to the dining hall.
“So, I am Ninomiya Kazunari. What’s your name?”
“Ohno Satoshi. Err, where is your other friend? The lanky guy who always giggles,” asked Ohno. Obviously, Nino knows that he was referring to Aiba who has been stolen by Sho. He doesn’t know what is wrong with Sho. He always argued with him about Aiba, saying that Nino is a bad influence to Aiba. But, seriously, he didn’t ask Aiba to follow him doing the prank; Aiba was the one who volunteer to help him. He knows that Sho has a crush on Aiba and jealous to see both Aiba and Nino are so close together. But, honestly, he only thinks of Aiba as his little brother. The lanky guy is so clumsy that he thinks he should look out for him to keep him away from danger.
“He is with another guy,” said Nino as they approached the dining hall. The moment he entered the dining hall, he noticed both Sakuraiba pair were sitting on a table. Of course, both of them didn’t notice him as they are in their own world whenever they are together. He thought of going there and snatches Aiba from Sho, just for the fun of seeing Sho’s furious face. But, he thought better of that. He has a better companion with him now so just let Sho enjoy Aiba’s company for a bit.
“Ah, your friend is with Kouya san,” said Ohno as they took a seat in one of the empty tables after getting their plates full of food. Nino felt confused with this. Who is Kouya?
“Who is Kouya?” this time it is Ohno who looked startled. As Nino noticed that Ohno was looking at Sho, Nino was sure the ‘Kouya’ that this cute chubby guy talked about is Sho. Hmm, since when did this guy change his name? This is maybe something that he could use to tease Sho later.
“If you’re talking about the guy who is with my friend, he is not Kouya. He is Sakurai Sho,” said Nino and Ohno looked very surprised with this.

“I thought of eating with you too but seeing that you just entered the bathroom, I went with your cute chubby cheek with sexy butt roommate instead,” said Nino and he laughed as he saw Ohno’s face turned red with his words. J, on the other hand, was just rolling his eyes.
“Oh my, don’t tell me you’re hitting on my roommate,”
“If so, what are you going to do? Anyway, do you want to know something? Our beloved Sakurai Sho introduced himself as Kouya to our dear Ohchan. I wonder why he lied about it,”
“Well, he just doesn’t want everyone to treat him like a young master he is. You know how everyone treated a Sakurai. Like a prince. He is the famous one among us. He has many achievements even before he started school. You know how every single mother in our small wizard world wants him as their son because apparently he is a docile son. With Aiba’s nosy attitude, your bratty attitude and my diva attitude, of course he will look the best among all four of us,” said J. Nino just nodded his head, agreeing with all of the points. But, still he doesn’t like Sho. He always acts as if he is the best one, always telling them what to do and if any of them do something bad, he will report about it. That’s why he asked J and Aiba to boycott Sho but because of Aiba’s friendly attitude, he doesn’t do as Nino’s wish. And because of that, both Nino and Sho always argue about Aiba. J, on the other hand, doesn’t care much about Nino’s boycotting Sho.
“I can’t believe that he was sorted into rutilus. Everyone knows that a rutilus is supposed to be a brave man, but, you know how chicken Sho is. Not to mention, rutilus is supposed to be the strong one but I can beat him in arm wrestling. He only has air muscle,” said Nino again. As always, he finds the activity of finding the flaw in the perfect Sakurai Sho amusing.
“Yes, absolutely, but don’t you know that Sakurai Sho is a nerd and do anything as what the books say. So, of course, the suitable house for him is rutilus. Nino, would you please stop talking about him? You gave me headache,” said J. Nino just pouted and turned his attention to the other cute guy who was eating silently in front him. Nino kept on staring at the other guy who seems to be in his own world, and didn't realize Nino was staring at him. When Ohno realized a pair of eyes was looking intensely at him, he turned to look at Nino and blush. Nino was just laughing looking at his cute reaction.
“Now, you disturb my roommate. Could you please just left him alone?”
“Of course not. He has cast a love spell on me, how could I leave him alone,” again, Ohno was blushing hearing that. Nino was just laughing at him. Of course he thought of Ohno as a cute and lovely looking boy but he is not in love with the other guy. He just loves to tease the other guy. He looks so cute whenever he blushes.
“Oh, please. You say something cheesy in the morning. I’ll leave both of you alone because I need to meet Mao chan before the class starts,” said J and he left immediately after that. Nino was complaining that he was abandoned by his friends on the first day of class when he realized Ohno was about to leave him too.
“Hey, where are you going?” asked Nino as he holds Ohno’s hand before he managed to get away.
“I need to get to the class,” Nino looked at his watch and realized they still have another 15 minutes to waste before the class starts.
“We still have another 15 minutes. Do you want to leave me alone after all of my friends abandoned me? We could go to the class together after this,” said Nino while giving his best puppy eyes to the other guy. Ohno then hesitantly take a seat back.
“Good boy. Now, tell me about yourself,”
“Err, I don’t have anything interesting to tell you. I am just a boy who lives with his mother after his father died in an accident,”
“So, is your parents wizard too, or you’re the first in the family?”
“Hmm, they are not muggles. They are wizard. But, my mother has been keeping that as a secret from me until Kitagawa sensei came last week,” this looks weird, said Nino silently. Why Ohno’s parents would keep that as a secret? If you’re a wizard, you should proudly say so.
“So, you’ve been raised as a muggle? And, you don’t know anything about magic and wizard?”
“Hmm, yes. I used to tell my mom that I can move things without touching but my mom forbade me from talking or showing it to anyone,” this get Nino’s interest. Of course each wizard has their own magic ability but no one has ever been able to do telekinesis except for the one in crudus. But they can only manipulate elements. He wonders if the one Ohno’s ability was the same as the one in crudus. If it is so, shouldn't he be sorted into crudus, instead of puniceus? As far as he knows, other than being sorted according to their personality, each young wizard is also sorted according to their magical ability. This would make it easier for the teacher to teach each student how to control their magic ability. For example, everyone in crocinus has the ability to change their appearance. What makes them different is what they can change into. As for pucineus, they have physical ability such as enhanced speed and flexibility. Everyone in crudus has the ability to interact with nature while everyone in rutilus has physical strength and power absorption except for Sakurai Sho, of course. But, no one has ever been able to perform telekinesis so maybe, Ohno is more powerful than he looks and maybe that’s why his mother has been kept this as a secret. Interesting, he wants to know more about Ohno but it seems that they don’t have the time to talk right now as they have to get to the class now.
“It was nice talking to you but we don’t have much time right now. Let’s get to class and then have our lunch together,” said Nino as he took Ohno’s hand that was again didn’t complain anything about it and swing their hands together to get to the class.
