Friday Five

1. What was your favorite childhood meal?
My father's French toast for breakfast. It was one of two meals he knew how to cook. The other was steak and French fries.

2. What is the best holiday for eating in your family?
Passover, hands down, although Thanksgiving is giving it a run for its money. Both are 'mothers' holidays, where the whole family gathers 'round and there are no presents -- hence no greed -- involved.

3. If someone could fix you a meal, and you didn't have to worry about cost or calorie count, what would you ask them to make?
Steamed lobster, French fries, green salad, and ice cream for dessert. In fact, one year on my birthday, my son, John, and his wife, Pam, brought all the fixin's to my house and cooked me this very dinner. It was wonderful.

4. What food(s) do you truly dislike/hate/have allergies to?
I don't have any allergies, but I'm not crazy about most vegetables though I do eat them.

5. Could you give up eating meat if you wanted/needed to?
I could. In fact, it's been several weeks since I last had beef or pork, and I've only had chicken once in the last seven days. This doesn't mean I eat a lot of veggies, it means I eat a lot of fish and seafood and peanut butter.
