From the Library to Around the Island, Saturday Afternoon

It seemed that one of the elements that needed to be found was a representation of kindness, so by definition it was likely a foregone conclusion that a group would assemble to look for it.

CosetteCosette was still blinking powdered sugar out of her eyes, and chocolate milk was dripping off the brim of her hat, and she might be this close to losing her taste for candy altogether, but that wouldn't have stopped her from trying to help one way or the other.

"Have we got any idea what it looks like, this token we're trying to find?" she asked, looking like a girl determined to find it, even if it took hugging everyone on the island to accomplish that.

Which was something she wouldn't be opposed to on a normal day, frankly.

FN-2187"Not a clue," FN-2187 admitted. "What does kindness even look like, anyway?" Like most virtues it was something he was more familiar with as under-the-radar practice than a concept.

Hardison"That's just it, it could look like anything," Hardison said with a sigh. He'd be more down with the hug idea if he wasn't a damn pony. "It...just is." He pawed the ground in frustration. "Okay, what's the kindest thing y'all can think of, either that you did for someone or someone did for you. Maybe we can start there an' get some idea of where to start."

DidiThe pegasus fluttering beside Hardison paused to think, and also to lick an itchy bit of powdered sugar off her forelock.

"Acceptance," Didi said. "Love. Listening instead of just waiting for a chance to talk."

She blew out impatiently. "None of those things are exactly something you'd just find lying around."

CosetteCosette chewed on her lip for a few moments, frowning, before she spoke up. "When I was very little, and it was cold, there were nights when I might have thought that if someone were to give me a blanket, it would have been the nicest thing in the world. Might something like that work, do you think?"

Hardison"An' hugs have been referred to as cuddly blankets for the soul," Hardison mused. "An' hugs are pretty much the kindest gesture people can do for one another. I'm down with findin' a blanket an' tryin' that if we could."

It would have to be a warm and fluffy blanket, however. Nothing less would do. Hardison had standards for his blankets.

Didi"I like the blanket idea," Didi agreed. "Maybe something fuzzy and hand-knitted, so it's extra-cozy."

She too had blanket Standards.

Cosette"And more than likely, someone put a great deal of their own time and care into making it." Could you be any more Disney princess, Cosette? "Making one would take far too much time, but surely someone around here has got to have one?"

It had been a question, but as soon as she asked it her expression firmed up into something more determined, and she gave a decisive nod.

"Yes, I'm sure of it. If not in the dorms, I can think of a few people in town I might ask." Because of course she would make friends with NPC residents, too. "Come on, we can ask about, and if nothing else I'm sure the secondhand store's likely to have one."

[OOC: Establishy. Chalk up another Element of Harmony found!]
