All and Sundries, 3/29

Mar 29, 2006 11:09

Edmund's lips were blue when he opened the store that morning. Apparently he'd had a very cold bath that morning. Oddly, it wasn't the first one he'd had in the past 24 hours. Who knows why?

He's drinking a hot toddy and delving into the fantastic world of Jules Verne. He can get this science fiction thing. Really.

All and Sundries is open.

Nadia had showered after her food fight with Veronica, but she might still have a raisin or two in her hair. She arrived at All and Sundries feeling quite cheerful, and went hunting for lace doilies, pink ribon, and frilly hats.

Edmund looked up from his book and shrugged. This girl was alright. Under the pretext of actually caring that she was there, he sent Lizzy out to follow her around while returned to reading.

Nadia paused when she noticed something following her, then smiled down at the little robotic dog.

She wondered if they might be able to borrow it for the tea party this afternoon. . . .

Lizzy had learned that standing up on her hind legs and holding out a paw made people talk to her nicely. So she did.

No doubt she'd adore a tea party...

Sometime in the middle of the day, Edmund may have pictured Ivanova in an outfit that covered about as much as those bathing suits he'd approved of so heartily earlier in the week.

He left Baldrick to mind the store; he suddenly felt he needed another bath.

Victor came in just before lunchtime and walked right up to the counter. "Hey, Edmund. How are you today?"

Edmund searched his memory for a reason why the green boy would be calling him by his first name. Oh yes. How unfortunate.

"I find the day to be a bit chilly. May I help you with something?"

"Yeah, it's pretty cold out there. Good thing your store is warm." he smiled and continued. "Hey, I was wondering if you sold gift cards or something like that?"

"Gift cards?" Edmund frowned. More. "We have a full selection of Hallmark cards."

Parker comes in before she goes over to Caritas, and wanders around the aisles for a bit before she gives up and approaches the counter. "Good evening, Mr. Blackadder."

Edmund set aside his book to give her his full attention. "Good evening, Miss Parker. How may I help you?"

"I'm looking for dominos. Lots of them. I have a friend who has too much time on his hands, and I think a set of dominos ought to be nicely obsessive-compulsive enough to keep him occupied for a while." She smiled brightly.

Edmund slid off his stool, already moving toward the shelves housing the games. "Of course," he said over his shoulder. "When you say 'many dominos,' do you require many sets of dominos, or simply one full set?"
