All and Sundries, 3/29

Mar 29, 2006 11:09

Edmund's lips were blue when he opened the store that morning. Apparently he'd had a very cold bath that morning. Oddly, it wasn't the first one he'd had in the past 24 hours. Who knows why?

He's drinking a hot toddy and delving into the fantastic world of Jules Verne. He can get this science fiction thing. Really.

All and Sundries is open.

Nadia had showered after her food fight with Veronica, but she might still have a raisin or two in her hair. She arrived at All and Sundries feeling quite cheerful, and went hunting for lace doilies, pink ribon, and frilly hats.

Edmund looked up from his book and shrugged. This girl was alright. Under the pretext of actually caring that she was there, he sent Lizzy out to follow her around while returned to reading.

Nadia paused when she noticed something following her, then smiled down at the little robotic dog.

She wondered if they might be able to borrow it for the tea party this afternoon. . . .

Lizzy had learned that standing up on her hind legs and holding out a paw made people talk to her nicely. So she did.

No doubt she'd adore a tea party...

Nadia crouched down and shook the robot dog's paw. "Hi, are you the store guard dog?"

All this facepalming must be unhealthy, yet still Blackadder did it.

Lizzy barked happily and wagged her tail. She was the best robot store guard dog on the island and knew it.

Nadia patted Lizzy on her metal head. "I bet you're very fierce, too,"

She made a mental note that it might possibly be safe to shoplift here.

Lizzy had very sharp metal teeth, but hadn't used them on anything yet. She wagged her tail in a very friendly manner and barked, blinking her nose at the nice girl now.

Allll she had to do was make friends with the guard dog, and she would be golden . . . .

"Ooo, yes, very fierce. I can tell."

Edmund was developing a headache while Lizzy made friends with yet another customer.

Lizzy stood up and put her paws on the nice girl's knees. Maybe if Blackadder gave her more attention, she'd be less willing to get it from the customers. Alas.

"Would you like to help me look for tea party things?" Nadia asked innocently.

The proper relationship with the guard dog for shop lifting would take some time to build. . . . Another five minutes, at the very least. . . .

Lizzy dropped back down to the floor and wagged. Not that she knew what tea party things were, but she didn't mind helping to the best of her little robot doggy abilities.

"Great!" Nadia grinned down at the robopuppy again. "We need frilly things. Can you find those?"

Lizzy attempted to lead Nadia to the section of the clothing department with clothes appropriate to Edmund's time. That was pretty darned frilly.

Nadia smiled and leaned back against the shelves briefly before following after the enthusiastic robopuppy.

Edmund cleared his throat rather loudly to remind his customer and guard frickin' dog sans frickin' lasers, of course that they weren't the only ones in the store.
