The Perk [Sunday evening]

Apr 01, 2012 22:17

Anakin had been on the island in the morning for something completely unrelated to alternate universe children (Juliet liked the chocolate donuts from JGOB best, and Anakin was a sucker, okay), but he'd felt the uptick in Force-strong presences immediately ( Read more... )

Rory didn't get any coffee.

Sad.

She did, however, get a fruity drink. That lacked booze.

Sad again.

"...so," she ventured. "This is really weird!"

Might as well get it out into the open.

"Yep," Chris confirmed. "Hey, hands off the scone, Juliet!"

"My sco'!" Juliet insisted, her little hands clutching the raspberry scone tightly as she frowned at him. "No share!"

"Her grammar gets a little better when she grows up," Chris told them with an eye roll. "The sharing issues never do."

Raven just happened to be going to the Perk that evening, because she was in need of some very strong coffee herself. And hot chocolate for Elizabeth and Eirene.

When she saw Anakin she froze for a minute because awkward until Eirene detached herself from her hand and squealed, "Great grandpa!"

Raven let out a sigh of sudden relief. And then looked even more confused. Wait, that Anakin? She hadn't even met him yet.

Anakin blinked. "Um."

Eloquent, huh?

Eirene scampered over and held up her arms for a hug. "Hi!" she said. "Where's Dad?"

"She is Eirene, my daughter, and the daughter of your namesake," Raven supplied helpfully.

Anakin hugged her back. "Hello to you too! I haven't seen him."

It had been a long day, and Billy needed coffee. And he'd promised his daughter she could have some hot chocolate.

So he brought her and a once more sleeping Tommy (why couldn't he sleep at night?) to the Perk.

Then, to Billy's horror, Tommy did something that comes naturally to infants. Billy and Anastasia smelled it at about the same time that Tommy woke to the discomfort and began to fuss.

"Brown alert!" Ana cried out, ever helpful.

Billy facepalmed. "Please tell me you have a changing table in the bathroom." he said to the barrista.

The amused barrista assured him they did, and soon enough Billy was returning from the rest room with an awake, but clean son, and telling Ana that they needed to work on something called subtlety.

"Looks like you have your hands full," Anakin observed. He tilted his head. "Isn't the baby a little young for weekends like this?"

Billy hadn't particularly noticed the abundance of kids, as he had been busy with his own. Until Anakin pointed it out of course.

"Master Skywalker." Billy greeted him. "Weekends like...Oh. Oh wow I hadn't realized it was one of those." He began to laugh. "Well that just figures. Actually Sir, while these two did once visit me like that, this time they're here to stay. Turns out my possible future was in fact, very possible."

He turned to Ana. "Ana, I'd like you to meet Master Skywalker, a teacher at the school. Master Skywalker, this is my daughter, Anastasia. And my son Tommy."

Ana curtsied gracefully, if a little shyly, and Tommy gurgled.

"Hi," Anakin said with a little smile. Beside him at the table, Chris was playing a game on his comlink.

"This is my son, Chris. He hasn't been born yet."

That made sense in Fandom.
