Nervous about tonight's workshop, Tim decided fretting in his room was doing him no good at all, so he headed into the common room, from which nice smells were emanating.

"Tim!"

Tempe waved as he entered. She held the plate of cookies out to him. "Cookie?"

"Nope. Just felt like making cookies today," Tempe said, taking a bite of a snickerdoodle.

"Plus, I thought it might draw more people I haven't met out of their rooms."

After his conversation with Alec last night, Tyler had decided to stay out of his room as long as he could. He was sure the conversatiopn would have repurcussions, and he didn't want to deal with them right then.

Which was how he found himself in the third floor common room. "Tempe!," he greeted. "What are you doing?"

"Making cookies," Tempe replied, grinning. She held the plate piled high with cookies out to him. "Want one?"

Then, as if to sweeten the deal, she said enticingly, "There are assorted varieties..."

"I always want cookies," Tyler smiled. He took a peanut-butter one. "Did you make this?" he asked, mouth full.

Tempe nodded. "Yep. I had some free time this afternoon, and thought baking cookies would be fun. And delicious."

The smell of cookies was wafting out into the hall and pulled Peter into the Common Room. He realised he didn't know the girl who was making the cookies, but he hoped she'd want hardy taste testers. He bowed to her and nodded to the other boys in the room.

Tempe grinned and waved at Peter. "I don't think we've met yet. I'm Tempe."

She held out the plate with the cookies. "Cookie?"

Peter smiled back at the girl. "We've not, I'm sure. I'm Peter Pevensie. And with greetings like biscuits, I can honestly say it's lovely to meet you."

"Very nice to meet you as well, Peter," Tempe said, grinning once again.

Then she giggled. "I think I may have found the key to making friends around here."

Conner was in kind of a bad mood after getting detention in archery class, but the smell of cookies took the edge off of that.

"Does everybody bake cookies around here?" he asked, juggling his soccer ball as he walked in. "I knew I liked this place."

Tempe waved at the boy juggling the soccer ball. "I don't know about everyone, but if so, I could definitely see why they would."

"Cookie?" she said, offering him the plate.

"Yes, please," he said, setting the ball down on an end table as he took in the sheer variety of cookies. "Wow, you were busy. Hi, by the way. I'm Conner."

Introductions were good, because it didn't seem right to take someone's cookies before knowing their name.

"Yeah, I suppose I was," Tempe replied. "There's something quirky with the ovens here. Everything baked really fast, so I ended up making a lot more, a lot faster."

"I'm Tempe. Very nice to meet you, Conner. And please, help yourself to the cookies. Take some for your friends, as well."
