Joon awoke to heat, humidity, a throbbing headache, and a man swearing in Mandarin. She lie quietly with her eyes closed, listening. Svenningson had told her and the other "volunteers" the bare minimum: that they'd wake up in a tropical environment with the clothes on their backs, along with a few new test subjects. Why DHARMA didn't simply hold their specimens in nice, sterile cells was beyond Joon. It also wasn't her concern ( ... )

The worst part of all this was the constant, and supposedly necessary bit of being rendered unconscious. Even momentarily, it bothered him. Still, what sacrifices he'd make for the Corps was ultimately better for all involved, telepaths and mundanes alike, though he didn't really care about the latter quite so much ( ... )

OOC: Just to be clear, Joon is human and not psychic. Intelligence-wise she's on par with Daniel. She excels at science, not linguistics.

"This isn't Io."

(Ugh.) Although Joon knew that Remy White was part of the mission she didn't have to like it. (Elitist bastard.) Nevertheless Joon played her part, giving White a puzzled frown. "Io? Why on Earth would you think you're on one of Saturn's moons?" She wondered if Caveman would catch her deliberate mistake.

It was close, but the telepath managed not to roll his eyes, theatrically (of course), though he did let out a sigh, deigning not to correct the woman. Pushing himself to his feet with his hands, Remy stood and surveyed the immediate area as he rubbed the grit off himself. He was careful not to seem -too- familiar with the surroundings, and a tentative step was taken-- away from the angry Jayne.

"That's where I should be." Remy's tone rose ever so slightly. He was usually soft-spoken, telepaths didn't need to be loud, and the increase in volume sounded strange to his ears. "I shouldn't be here, where-ever 'here' is."

He looked around again, this time, the action was a little jerkier, as if the realization that perhaps he was stuck was creeping in. He checked himself quickly, no... "Was I... where's my shuttle?" No sign of a crash, no sign of injury.

"What happened?" He looked to Jayne once more-- questions were meant to elicit mental responses long before anything found voice. Easy telepath trick.

She awoke to the sounds of chatter, some of it angry, some of it demanding, and heat. Oppressive and heavy, hanging over her like some kind of wool blanket. She sat up, blinking her eyes even though there was no bright light around. The last thing she'd remembered was lying on her stomach under her console aboard the Avenger, circuits of her communications board sputtering and sparking and her Captain barking orders at her to get a distress signal out. And then ...

She was here.

She sat up and looked around, there were a few more gathered here with her, three men and two women, from the look of it. Whatever was taking place, she was obviously coming into the middle of it. An A-B conversation her sister would have told her, so 'C' your way out of it, Chelsea the memory of her sister's voice made her smile a little.

She wondered just where in the universe she was, and what had happened to the Avenger and its crew, its Captain ( ... )

When the woman mentioned a sadistic experiment, Jayne got real worried. He'd seen experiments. Cuttin' up little girl's brains, things like the Pax spread on people just to try it. No way was he just gonna lay down and not care, and he wasn't gonna turn into no flesh eatin, rapin, Reaver, either. No way.

It was enough to throw him off her noticin his physique. At six four he was used to bein intimidatin' and workin out a lot. He even knew what physique meant. But her carpin on his intelligence, huh. Crap shots. He was smart enough to stay alive.

"Those who survived? So you're sayin these experiments make ya dead, or wish ya were." He was gonna let the whole Earth bit slide for now. Maybe that was part of the experiments.

Then another woman joined in. How many people were there under that sculpture anyhow?

"Ifn' your security, who's in charge? How'd the Alliance pull this one off?"

"There's no alliance here, pop's." she smiled a little then looked to the others. "Before I lead you to our camp, I want to see you all. So sorry, if it seems odd, but we've been experiencing little.. accidents. People infiltrating us and whatnot."

Turning to look towards the treeline, she realised that it was getting later in the afternoon. If this lot were going to get shelter for the night, she'd have to move swiftly to make sure they were near enough to the fire. IF she decided they could come back to the camp.

She turned back to them. "My name is Miho Ryudo and I'm one of several people who patrol the edge of our territory, making sure we're not in danger from other inhabitants of this island. You're all lucky I found you first."

Alright, so maybe luck didn't have a hand at all. She'd known they'd be there... but there was no reason to tip her hand at all.

"So, who are you all?"

Chelsea looked around in confusion, Alliance? She didn't recognize the large man who had spoken and he didn't seem to have come from any ship she knew. In fact he looked ... anachronistic. Wild.

Her attention turned to the woman who was talking, she didn't recognize her either. Her hand reached to her chest where her communicator should have been attached, and she found nothing. She looked around at the others gathered and saw equal looks of confusion on their faces. She had a plethora of questions and desperately wanted to find someone with answers.

"I'm Lieutenant Commander Chelsea LaShay, communications officer" she said, taking a step forward, her back straight and her hands clasped behind her back. She was still a UFA officer, no matter where or when she was, and she would act like one. "I'm station aboard the UFA Avenger commanded by Captain Stetson. Can you please tell me exactly where ... here ... is?"

Chelsea had stayed quiet, watching and listening to everything everyone had said. The appearance of the new girl had startled her, but she wasn't near the front of the group so she could regain control of herself while the others peppered out their questions. She ached for her communicator, or her phased weapon. Something to protect herself from the unknown, a chance to get in touch with her ship ( ... )

Miho glanced to River and smiled. She actually liked the girl, and was one of only a few in the camp that River didn't freak out.

Glancing between Jayne, Chelsey and the others, she turned back to River. "What do you think? Should we just take them back, or do you think that Daniel might disagree?!

She felt better deferring the decision to someone who could, if the need arose, mentally communicate with anyone in the camp that she needed to.

Besides, it also gave Miho a few moments to study the others. Remy, she knew. As did she know Joon. However, the hood and mask she'd worn to the last meeting would certainly ensure they'd not known who she was. No, she was more interested in Chelsey, Danny and Jayne. Although to enhance the idea that she didn't know any of them, she spared equal time to look at all of them. Glad that her mind, more dragon than human, was unreadable to Human telepaths.

"Proceedings must run their course. Some things cannot be circumvented." River announced. "Some of these will enhance the integral community unit."

She moved to step back the way she came. "Bring them along."

Miho nodded, then turned to the others with a grin as she pushed her heavy hair out of her face. "You heard the woman, let's move out. River can lead, I'll bring up the rear."

Resting her hand on the hilt of her knife, she moved aside to let the others go down the path. "It's only about a mile or so. Not far at all."
