"This isn't Io."
(Ugh.) Although Joon knew that Remy White was part of the mission she didn't have to like it. (Elitist bastard.) Nevertheless Joon played her part, giving White a puzzled frown. "Io? Why on Earth would you think you're on one of Saturn's moons?" She wondered if Caveman would catch her deliberate mistake.

"That's where I should be." Remy's tone rose ever so slightly. He was usually soft-spoken, telepaths didn't need to be loud, and the increase in volume sounded strange to his ears. "I shouldn't be here, where-ever 'here' is."
He looked around again, this time, the action was a little jerkier, as if the realization that perhaps he was stuck was creeping in. He checked himself quickly, no... "Was I... where's my shuttle?" No sign of a crash, no sign of injury.
"What happened?" He looked to Jayne once more-- questions were meant to elicit mental responses long before anything found voice. Easy telepath trick.

The first voice he spun to face was a woman. Fine enough lookin, but not exactly stacked. "Whadda you mean you don't speak Mandarin? Every Hwoon dahn in the verse speaks at least enough to get by."
Then someone else was talkin. A guy All done up like some Core dandy. Well, la tee dah.
"Where the ruttin' hell is Io?" Jayne frowned. Must be some kind of fancy club.
Sleeping in his bunk. "How'm I supposed to know. Went to bed last night, woke up here. Don't remember doin nothin to piss anyone off. Recently, anyhow. Pretty sure they wouldn't kick me out without my kit. Not the type."

Waiting for what, he wasn't sure. Last he remembered he'd been relaxing at camp. He'd inspected all that he could see where he lay without turning his head, and there were no tell tale clues to tell him where he was. Only more confusion, because he certainly wasn't where he had been before.
His eyes closed, and he simply listened. If he had been captured, he wasn't alone. Or his captors were a bunch of idiots. At least, for the most part, they were speaking English.

("In the verse?") Somehow she didn't think Caveman was talking about poetry. Between that and him not having a clue where Io was, Joon presumed that DHARMA had plucked the ruffian from somewhere or somewhen far away. He couldn't be too stupid, or he wouldn't last long in the experiment.
Joon stood up slowly as Caveman answered White, keeping a wary eye on her companions. She noticed that the other (rather attractive) anglo man under the stone object was pretending to be unconscious. Joon kept the information to herself. Her few years with DHARMA had taught her that exlusive knowledge was a valuable weapon.
"Same for me," Joon said. She quickly added, "I mean, I went to sleep at home -- my apartment -- and woke up here!" Then she turned to White. "Did you say 'shuttle'?"

Danny's consciousness was easily felt as the man catalogued. It was a pretty fair bet that none of the others with him could catch a passive scan, so he was... receptive. It was another eye, after all. A survival trait for the homo superior.
"I did. Shuttle." The word was enunciated. He walked around, still giving Jayne a wide berth, and he looked at his surroundings. "Plenty of planets that look like this in parts... so we could be anywhere." Remy sighed, his wiry shoulders rose and fell in the gesture. "I'm going to be in trouble for not making my appointment. It was an important contract negotiation."

Nevertheless, Joon had a part to play. Acting it out was easy. She put herself in her pre-DHARMA mindset back in Cal Tech in 1999. Shuttle? Planets? Craziness.
Joon backed away from White and Neanderthal boy, which put her in front of cute not-asleep Anglo guy. She kept him in her peripheral vision as she addressed White. "I don't know what asylum you escaped from, but... Stay the hell away from me." She edged toward the outside of the clearing, shouting, "Hello? Somebody!"

And, it seemed, ths Island hadn't stopped depositing people on this forsaken spit of land.
She sighed, emerging into the clearing. "I take it you're all strangers to each other and don't know where you came from?"

The telepath had learned many years ago that the best way to pass an... exaggeration was to couch it in truth. That way, it was easier to weave a web in which to snare. Besides-- technically, he doesn't lie. Well, other than the fact that he's NOT a P5... but it was easier to pretend he was than for a P5 to take on the mantle of a 'Cop. Misrepresentation, but he still wore the trappings of the PsiCorps. No lie there; for those who understood what it meant-- and when he found his way to the camp, there'd be no question.
He smiled ever so slightly as he turned his back on the others a moment, peering into the jungle. His voice called softly, "I remember jungle like this in my youth. I was born in Hawaii." Raised by the Corps on Mars, which was home... but born in Hawaii. "This could be Earth ( ... )

"I take it you're all strangers to each other and don't know where you came from?" Oddly enough, she seemed bored.
"You don't sound surprised?" White drawled.
Joon rushed up to the woman. "Yes! I mean, no. We don't know each other and where are we? Who are you?"

But, there was still the possibility of a hostile take over. Capture. Thrown into a tank with a bunch of randoms. Or it might be a test. of his strength, his will. He'd show them. he could lay still for hours, days, even, if he had to.

But the fancy man was talking like everyone was a dumbass.
"Right... we're on Earth-That-Was. Cause that's all possible. Not ta mnention this aint a burnt out husk, and hey, we're breathin. Try another one." Jayne turned to the new girl.
"Now you, what the rutten hell is goin on, and where's the rest of the crew?" Jayne made sure Boo was nice and obvious in his hand.

Miho turned to face Jayne, the leather of the bowie knife sheath she wore on her left hip slapping lightly against the bare flesh of her tanned thighs. The ship-wreck shorts she wore were complimented by a gossamer light long-sleeve shirt that didn't hug her figure, like some of the other women here might wear.
Dark eyes flashed in frustration as she stared at the man, but she didn't need to draw the knife to be imposing. "You're part of a sadistic experient. Seems like you may have been chosen for your excellent physique and stellar mind."
There wasn't even a hint of humour in her voice, but then she sighed and turned back to the others. "Sorry, but we're growing rather fed up with the deposits being made here. Seems like there's no rhyme or reason to the choices of people and the randomness is setting some people's nerves on edge."
Pushing her heavy hair back, she surveyed them all. "My name's Miho and I'm one of the security detail for those of us who've survived."

"What do you mean 'experiment'?" Joon's words tumbled in a frightened torrent. "Security for those who've survived? Survived what?"
