Mary

Gone away - never coming back.
Remind me why love seemed so great?
Ecstatic climax, fuelled by lies,
Embraces falser than your heart.
Killer from so far, why pick me?
Seduction shouldn't be so sweet.

Because I was lonely, because
Everyone had someone to love,
And Jack hid all his secrets well.
Rhys loved Gwen, but her faithlessness
Infused her with a wild joy.
No one is as we think they are.
Grotesques, shapechangers: trust no one.

Gently we drown in loneliness.
Ianto's Lisa tried to kill us.
Funny how things can change so fast.
Time brings wisdom and pain. Mary -
Should you return, would I still love?
