I was gonna use my Kane "Holy shit!" icon, but this one is a million times more appropriate.
"Imposter syndrome"? This fucked up, shit-awful way I've felt pretty much my entire adult life has a name?
I don't know whether to be pleased that at least I'm not alone, or sad that apparently so many other people feel exactly the same way.
But oh my gods, you go girl! You have done so much, achieved stuff that you can justifiably be proud of - and believe me, if you can actually enumerate those things, you're kicking the shit out of "Imposter Syndrome"!
I'm so damned proud to know you - because you are indeed awesome!
(For the record, I love that icon - though I'd love to know what the context was for that scenario! *g*)
*hugs* I know, I too was stunned to find out that it was actually a recognised effect (although apparently not yet listed as a formal medical/psych disorder) and I think it probably does help to know that it is! You mean this icon? It's from a clip on "Undertaker - This is My Yard" - I suspect it's the Brothers of Destruction doing some match planning with baby Hardy Boyz, although from memory there's no dialogue/sound with it.
-gigglefits- Although my irretrievably dirty mind has its own theories about why anyone might feel . . . inadequate around those big boys.
*splutter* OMG, you're terrible, you know that? I am so glad I know you. <3 *dying here*
(I really should ask you... do you have AIM? And if so would you be interested in trading screennames? This sort of thing is always that much more fun in real time, after all... *g*)
And the Universe ain't gonna say a damn thing about it . . . because the Universe takes care of its own. I firmly believe in that.
*nods* I believe that, too. I just don't like to get too arrogant in my reliance on it, cos I suspect that this truth exists in dualistic opposition to the inevitability of Murphy's Law... *grin*
