I haven't updated in forever, nor have I been good *at all* at keeping up with my flist! Sorry, everyone. I've been surprisingly busy, given that it's summer... but busy in really good ways. I've been spending almost all day, every day *outside* - bike riding, gardening, and learning to sail! Good times. That means when it's not light out, I'm inside getting my two jobs done (both of which I can work at home - yes!) or hanging out with friends, or doing some scholarly reading to keep my brain *somewhat* active. ;)
I am one lucky girl. I mean, yes, Lisa's gone and I miss her LIKE CRAZY. But I'm going to visit her next week, so even her absence isn't riding me as hard these days as it usually does.
I see that it's
queenzulu's birthday today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, YOU! I hope you have several marvelous celebrations. I also hope that everyone else who still checks in on this journal is having a good summer (or winter, if you're down under), and I'm definitely going to try to do a better job of keeping up with your lives in the future. I really tend to go in cycles with journals and fannish stuff - does that happen to anyone else? For two years in a row now, I've pretty much dropped off the fan-planet when the really tough point of spring semester hit, for several *months*. Weirdness.
While watching Firefly today, though (people who saw the sneak preview - HOW WAS IT? BUT DON'T SPOIL ME!!), I had a crazy idea for a "resolution" to the end of "Not Fade Away" involving a triple Jossverse crossover.
Shepherd Book gets a vision. The Slayers dream dreams. Gwen happens to be in the neighborhood. And yes, yes indeed, they ALL end up in that alleyway just as the screen goes black at the end of "Not Fade Away."
Mal, Zoe, Jayne, and Book emerge from Serenity with shotguns. Inara has a sword. River smiles and hops on her toes a few times. Simon heads immediately to Gunn to deal with that icky mortal wound business. Wash takes off with Kaylee in the engine room, after a brief promise to Crazy-Ivan the dragon into oblivion, and then move on to the giant. ;)
Meanwhile, Buffy, Faith, the Scoobies, and at least thirty Slayers emerge from a cool looking magick portal. Willow proceeds to drum up some glowy magic. The Slayers get ready to kick ass. All of the non-superheroes are wielding rocket launchers.
Gwen jumps down from the roof and interrupts Gunn's medical appointment to ask him to temporarily remove the LISA. When he does, she grins. A mite ferally, to be honest. ;)
Angel and Spike are looking very confused. Illyria is as blue as ever. The demons are still coming, but suddenly the odds look very, very much against them...
Too crazy? Too corny? This may say something about what a sap I am... but the whole idea seems FREAKING HILARIOUS and SO MUCH FUN to me - especially the ultimate dance party afterwards. ;)
