I sang in a real kick-ass concert with the CBSC last night. We did a programme of American pieces, with lots of a capella choral bits. There aren't many large choruses who can do a capella music well. But the first half of the concert in particular rocked! My scariest moment, though, was having to play the starting chords for one of the pieces on the piano, as the accompanist was actually one of 4 conductors required for the piece! (Imagine how wrong that could have gone....)
Don't really have any exciting news right now. I had a gum infection behind my wisdom tooth last week, but I've been given Metronidazole to clear it up. It finally seems to be doing the trick. I'm about to take the final pill - they're so big and dry, they make me gag. :( I haven't been able to touch a drop of alcohol while on them (for risk of all manner of issues, including tachycardia!) and none for 48 hours afterwards. So by Saturday I'll have had an unintentional 9 day detox! It's worrying how difficult it's been, actually. It seems so normal to have a beer after choir, or pour a glass of wine with dinner.
I do have an odd pain at the front of my shoulder though. Kind of like I've been riding a rollercoaster and the harness has bruised me. Weird.
Right. Back to work. I forgot my colleague was leaving early today and I somehow let him dump an extra workload on me this morning. Grrr.
