Bring on Italy

What a strange and nerve stretching match. It was a very tense struggle, but Australia thoroughly desrved to come away with that draw and thus book a meeting with Italy in the second round.

We had end to end stuff, desparate defending, non-awarded penalties, two players sent off for second yellows, one player not sent off for a second yellow, and a somewhat anticlimactic is-it-a-final-whistle-or-not? whistle that denied us that moment of glory when the entire country jumps up as one and pump their hands in the air in triumph.

But in the end, the Socceroos did what was needed, and who cares if Harry may have been offside, they got the equaliser and achieved their goal of making to the second round.

Anything after this is a bonus, because we don't expect to beat Italy but by gum we're gonna try.
