This one is my first Real Poem of the season, and I think it's a topic I should write more about. A lot, a lot, a LOT of y'all described me as 'idealistic' in my recent Johari. Perhaps not coincidentally, the second-most common word was 'silly.' 'Idealistic' can mean a lot of different things...

I am trying to gauge what would constitute a realistic human response to a complex scenario in my novel, and to that end am conducting some *very* informal research. Quick question for y'all:

If you were a refugee on a deserted island circa 1943, and Hitler showed up and offered you asylum in Nazi Germany, would you go with him?[1]
