He waited for so long to become free of the voices in his head but it never happened. A month went by, then two, then another and finally it was a year after the Pulse and he was still Alpha with a cast of thousands stuck up in his head. And whether it was selfish or not, he had no desire to help rebuild the world so he made his way back to the only place that had ever felt like home to him. Even if it was the place that had made him who he was. And perhaps there was something about the fact that Echo would be there and she could understand what it was like for him. He couldn’t help but wonder if she would welcome with open arms or if his gift of Ballard would be enough for her. There was only one way to find out and perhaps if he was lucky she’d be in the whole shoot first, ask questions later type of mood and then there would be a blissful end to the clamouring in his head.
