On Tuesday we had a run out to the Post Office and the toy bus. I'm ashamed to say I drove, but it would have taken me an hour otherwise and I was not really feeling up to it!
While Alex slept I dismantled my net book to install a touch screen pad. It seems to work really well, and I've cured the loose screen cable too.
We had our last session at Little Elms, which was a bit sad. I took some NCT flyers and had an interesting conversation with the local Librarian about story time, so we may have a few things to tide people over.
When we got back we had a short pause before Simon got home, then it was off to see Ruth, Ali, Aiden and Megan. We had a really nice evening catching up, even if we did have spag bol and strawberries 2 nights in a row!
Yesterday I was out all day for Joseph Rowntree's 2nd partnership day. We set it all up in the morning, and then I nipped out to fetch Alex from Nursery and put him into child care, where he mainly slept! The afternoon was interesting, I had 2 local councillors on my table, including Carol Runciman and the local Methodist Vicar. As I had her as a captive audience I knobbled Carol about the Sure Start centre. She was most interested as she helped set up the programme and was surprised to find a session serving 20+ families had been withdrawn. She will be making official enquiries while we poke at the soft under belly!
Yesterday was one of those when I find myself stepping outside myself and wondering who this person who is so confident in front of a room full of unknown officials. I have come such a long way since my worst days of depression.
Today has been earmarked as packing. Cath did nip over briefly and has bought my baby bjorn sling off me. I've also lent her the back pack. Alex and I have also made some rocky road chocolate cake, 1 to take with us and 1 to leave for Simon so he doesn't feel totally neglected!
I checked my emails this morning and I appear to have been offered a job! 1 of the councillors was apparently "SO impressed with how you facilitated yesterday, she said she’d happily take you on to do facilitation work for her". Ooer. I don't really want a job for another year and half though! Still, very part time it might be interesting.
Mum, Grandma and Lib are coming over soon to regroup for our holiday tomorrow, and so Simon and I can go and meet Julia at the beer festival. I might need a good coat. Mmmmmmm, beer.
