Mum came over yesterday to go swimming after 2 months absence, we walked over and discovered that the pool is closed for 3 weeks. Bum. Oh well, at least we get a shiny new pool next time we go. We spent a while on the swings and the slide, with Alex proving me wrong that he couldn't climb a very steep log ladder to get to the slide. We then substituted our healthy swim with tea and teacakes in the Folk Hall cafe.
Alex's new car seat turned up yesterday, and he loves it, he keeps going and sitting in it and chilling out. As it is destined to go in the car I have splashed out £10 on Amazon for an inflatable seat (Thomas of course!) so he can have his own little chair.
Today Tim from Haxby, who I emailed at the start of the week has been over to examine my apple tree. He was mightily impressed, and has picked 4 bucket loads of cooking apples to take Salvation army and the produce swap on Saturday. Its an odd thought that my bumper load of cooking apples I don't have the time to do anything with will be feeding the homeless in York. He has left me a bucket full, has offered to drop off some eaters as they have loads of apples this year, and will be coming back with a team next week to finish the job. He has also offered to put me in touch with the Haxby foraging society, which could be interesting if I can find any spare time! I wonder if it was they who had my green gages?

silliness, food, parents, alex
