(no subject)
As Alex was a new patient we had to go early to fill in forms & the clinic was running late, so we ended up in the waiting room for 20 minutes. Alex thought this was magic, as there were lots of bored people there to amuse him. he wasn't keen on having his teeth inspected though.
We had a nice evening with Julia, making unexpected plans for my birthday, always good!
On Tuesday we went to Little Elms at the sure start centre, and I seem to have volunteered myself as their gardener as they want to do a bit of growing their own and don't have any clue how. I've given them a list of bits they need, so hopefully we can start next week. There were lots of people I know there, so it was fun. It was also a hot day, so I was amazed to watch one mother go through 3 layers to change her 4 month old baby's nappy, then put him in a coat and cozy toes to go out into the sun on their way home. Can you say febrile convulsions?
We didn't go swimming yesterday, but went to an NCT shared lunch instead. It was a good turn out with 8 Mums and kids. Alex spent most of it climbing me rather then socialising, but what can you do?
Alex has slept well the past couple of nights, and I've mostly been back in my own room, but with the human radiator sleeping next to me I didn't get to sleep until gone 12, then Alex woke up at 5:30 and didn't really go back to sleep, so now I am knackered.
Today we were meant to be going over to Sarah's to meet Niamh, but she blew me off twice & I can eventually take a hint! I've been experimenting with a gluten free ground almond soufflé cake to take for her birthday, which is tomorrow. The 1st one went down well with the NCT, the second one collapsed but will make puddings, and the third one was perfect but has now been frozen for another time.
Apparently Mum and Dad are down this weekend, so when Simon eventually gets back tomorrow it should be a good weekend. I've been frantically cooking Salmon up for Alex, and I am now dying my hair purple (mahogany chestnut apparently?) again in preparation for my night out.
Fingers crossed for a good night sleep.
