Its gone.. its (almost) all gone....

for those of you who know me  IRL you know that even though this icon is seriously outdated, my hair hasn't changed much.
it has been a sort of medium brown to coppery brown, long more or less straight mass of hair, that i do NOT  "style" or layer or die or do anything besides braid, put in pony tails, or pin up with my Mei Fa Hairstyx (or the custom ones from lainie at Terra Incognita)... and somewhere between my waist and my sitting muscles.

until today

prior to today the last time i had it cut  (other than minimal trimming of split ends) was when i was in the military, and prior to THAT i was 10.

Today my hair is just  the length of my hand past my shoulder.  it is to my shoulder blades, but not beneath it.  i keep trying to move my hair and running out of hair.  it is falling all wrong, doesn't weigh enough, and wont behave.  it keeps swinging to in front of my shoulders because it doesn't have enough length to keep it behind me where it belongs.  i am still re learning how to put it up.

i went into a salon and paid $40 dollars for the lady to put it in a pony tail and cut off 12 or so inches of good hair, plus 4-5 inches of longer wispy hair they weren't sure they could use.  Then of course we lost more length getting the hair still on my head back even and neat.

i hate it
but it was for a good cause:  Wigs for Kids, wigs for children with cancer and other hair loss.  They are less well known than Locks of Love, but do about the same thing.  if you have about 10 inches of hair you can spare... consider donating it when you get your hair cut.  For that matter, if you are getting less than 10 inches cut off? donate it to them anyway, they can sell that hair to cosmetic companies for testing to raise money for their organizations.

anyway, i am a bit stressed right now.

and btw, i found out that the salon at Ulta would have done it for free... but they were not listed on the webpage.

hair, charity, giving, update
