In a recent experience I learned that XE trade was MUCH better for moving money from one country to another (in this case Australia to US) - the difference betw what the local bank would do (1.06) and XE trade (1.09) made a big difference.

   I am puzzled as to how exactly I can do this when I don't have a USA bank account or ties with anyone in that country (which I am glad to no longer be in).

Hello.  Can anybody suggest a bank operating internationally where it will be easy to send funds from, say, the Philippines, to the United States?  Do any American bank do this type of service?  I've heard of exorbitant fees with correspondent banks so I want to know.  For expats, which is your bank of choice to move funds from one country to the ( Read more... )

We used to live in the US and now we are in India. I was wondering if there are charge cards out there that do not charge fees for intl transactions, preferably with no annual fee as well. Or have people had any luck getting the fees waived or taken off?

What sucks about working overseas and being 11 hours ahead of EST is how many times I can't access my bank or other e-transactions because the system is down for maintenance.
