Just had a "spontaneously rescheduled" conference call. If only someone had, you know, told me they were rescheduling. Anyway.
Visited my orthopedist today! I haven't seen him in two years, since I got my right wrist carpal tunnel surgery. He remembered me, noted that I had lost a lot of weight and dyed my hair. Pretty good for a minor surgery two years ago! What I wanted was to go in and find that we could just schedule the procedure, without all the nerve conduction studies and other annoying things from last time. And you know what? That's exactly what happened! Hooray! His secretary will be calling me in the next few days to schedule the procedure. Bam! His efficiency goes hand-in-hand with his hyperactivity, and both are impressive. I left work, drove to his office, had a consultation with him and an x-ray and was back at work an hour after I left. Sweet! The x-ray was for this weird lump I have on the back of my left hand, it's been there for years and it's started giving me pain. I asked about it, and he said, "I can just take it out at the same time! If it's a cyst. Let me feel it." (Orthopedist pushes on lump REALLY HARD, ow) "I have no idea what that is. If it's bone I might not be able to do it. Let's x-ray it." Five minutes later I had an x-ray, two minutes after that he was in there reviewing it with me on the computer. It is not bone, he still has no idea what it is but "I'll cut it out and find out!" Huzzah!
