Every other year, there's a massive national book sale in Norway called the Mammut (Mammoth in English, of course) sale. It's usually pretty crap in my opinion, as I already own most of the interesting books or don't want them in translation. Finally finished A.N. Wilson's The Victorians. A brilliant (and time-consuming) read. I spotted a few factual errors, but come on, which history book doesn't have a few of those? I don't hesitate to recommend it.

In fact, if you have the tiniest bit of interest in British history or 19th century history, you should read it.

My fabulous workmates got me Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner for my birthday, bless their little souls. Or rather, they got me the Norwegian translation, in hardcover. Since I avoid translations when I can, I took it back to the shop and got the English paperback instead.

Accidentally finished The Brightfount Diaries last night. It went from being The Book in the Bag to be The Book Furtively Read In Quiet Moments at Work, The Book in the Living Room, The Book in the Loo and The Book I Really Shouldn't Pick Up Because I Must Go To Bed Now.
