My fabulous workmates got me Khaled Hosseini's
The Kite Runner for my birthday, bless their little souls. Or rather, they got me the Norwegian translation, in hardcover. Since I avoid translations when I can, I took it back to the shop and got the English paperback instead.
This genius action also got me two more books, since a hardcover book is much more expensive than a paperback.
I got Natsuo Kirino's
Out and Michel Houellebeqc's
The Possibility of an Island. Nope, not in a mood for fluffiness these days.
My husband (also fabulous) gave me John Sutherland's
How To Read a Novel: A User's Guide, which I hear nice things about and am looking forward to read, and lovely Julian Barnes'
Arthur and George. He's evidently picked up on my current Barnes-adoration/addiction.
So much to read, so little time... Not to mention that the last few days I've been pretty busy, and spent an insane amount of time
looking for pretty T-shirts on the web, so I haven't read much. Tsk tsk.
