Joe's work schedule has changed twice in the last week or so.  It drives me nuts!  I updated our visitation calendar and notified our daycare provider the first time and now that all has changed completely.  I hope he gets a permanent job some time soon so Jack's schedule doesn't have to change with the seasons like this.  It's crazy ( Read more... )

I know I've been totally lame about updating. Work has gotten super busy now that I'm in charge of two positions. May is filled with social plans, too! So to fill you in on what is going on, I think a bullet list is in order:

• the fact that I only have a few papers to get notarized and submit to the court in order for the divorce to be finalized June 1

I had SUCH a good weekend. Friday was totally low key. We watched Star Wars: Episode VI because I haven't seen the original movies. I was totally entertained, of course. My weekend was pretty fabulous! Friday night David, Jack and I walked to the store together. I love walking in our neighborhood. Jack was hilarious, too. He loves to run down the sidewalk. Today is Jack's fourth day at the new daycare and he is already starting to forget that he is supposed to cry when I leave. :P One minute he would cling to my leg and whimper, then he would turn to Gloria and start telling her about his rocket (which is actually the handle of a toy spoon that lights up). The housewarming was a success, I think. It seemed like everyone was having a good time and the majority stuck around talking to people they had just met. Food got eaten and wine and beer were consumed (although we ended up with more beer than we started with!). I loved seeing my Holly, Mike and baby Sabrina last week. My sister is a great mom and much more relaxed than me. I did get to use my baby skills a bit to calm Sabrina a couple times and that was fun. Mostly, though, I was reminded that newborns aren't my thing. I don't miss that phase. I think we've hit that terrible 2/3's window or something.  Joe had mentioned a couple times over the past few months, "Yeah, he's been acting like a two and a half year old."  No tantrums but man, does this kid know how to be a little punk when he wants to!  Kicking, hitting, smacking, spitting, demanding various things and bossing us around...  ( Read more... )

Not only is our new SF apartment cheaper than what we are paying now...but the awesome daycare I found is cheaper than the place Jack goes to currently.  Also, the new provider is Brazilian and will keep up on the Portuguese education.  How freaking perfect is that?!
