Fulfilling SF Weekend

The housewarming was a success, I think. It seemed like everyone was having a good time and the majority stuck around talking to people they had just met. Food got eaten and wine and beer were consumed (although we ended up with more beer than we started with!). Nearly everyone who said they would be there showed up - work friends, friends from out of town, and family I hadn't seen in some time. It was really, really great to see everyone. My only wish is that I could have spent more individual time the guests rather than running around getting drinks and making sure Jack was doing okay (he was - lots of people to entertain him and be entertained *by* him). I thought by spreading it out over 4 hours it would give me a chance to socialize more but due to a parade in the city, nearly everyone was there at the same time. In any case, we will have to make smaller scale dinner plans in the future so that we can actually visit with people. But for showing off the new place, it was pretty good.

Sunday was awesome, as well. Because we cleaned up the kitchen Saturday night, we were able to just relax all day Sunday. We laid in bed watching Mad Men (SUCH a good show - the acting is SUPERB) and midday we got coffee and pastries, then walked down to the beach together to see the waves, the bridge, and a seal. We headed back home when the drizzle started to turn to rain, climbed in bed, chatted and cuddled and watched more Mad Men.

When Jack got home he and I baked some biscuits and then watched rocket launches and videos of him when he was a baby. Jack loves watching videos of himself. He cracks up and I laugh at him laughing at himself. So awesome. We fell asleep together talking about planets.

Gosh, I love my life.
