Hell hath no weekends, even if it is just July. Until this last Friday, that is, when I was surprised to find that the next Big One wasn't due 'til the Thursday of this week .

To put it simply, the academe ran a very convincing show of never letting up on those weekends of pure dread for the relentless siege of urgent deal-breaker requirements and those tiny annoying baby ones that have a habit of piling on top each other until you're up to your ballsack with the gah-deym academe!

And, yes, constrictions 'round the produce area--just as stifling as those reaching up to necks.

Even though it was not particularly restful nor sufficiently rejuvenating, color me Grateful, still, for that brief window of respite those two days had offered.

But hell has not been completely unkind.

  • I feel...like a Pinot Noire. Blame it on scripts and wine lectures and pretty well-executed metaphors. Am I enjoying Screenwriting class or what? Hahaha.
    • I now have copies of master shot scripts from 4 different full-length films; we can also choose to adapt a short for our short; and I am, for the moment, completely convinced that I can do this screenplay thing.
    • The only thing that's remotely annoying about the class--everyone's a scary film buff, solely interested in movie buffage. There's just me and mikey tan whose sights are on television more than the big screen.
  • Geekszerfuhn abound. TeeVee is made much more enjoyable with Toshiko Satos (Torchwood), Pvt. David Websters (Band of Brothers), or Willow Rosenbergs (and pretty much the entire BtVS roster, in my opinion).
    • Stargate Sg-1. "Space Monkey...Yeah!", said the Colonel to the Dany-el Jackson. Geek of Archeology and of (alien) Anthropology.
    • Chuck. I take back what I said about the show. Is actually quite fun, thanks mainly to the quirks of his handlers, but also to those of Chuck Batowsky, head of the Nerd Herd, Geek of Computer stuff.
