So, back from BUSA and... I won a medal!  I got a bronze medal for kata (patterns), which I find very exciting!!  First time I've medaled!  But this was a weekend of firsts - first time a lot of our squad has done comp, and also - First time I've won FIGHTS at competition too!  I won two fights in team kumite!  Unfortunately we lost to Edinbourough ( Read more... )

Well, the demo went really really well and - to my surprise - I DID not get the crap beaten out of me by the world champion, but in fact held my own and - for I think the first time ever - won my fight.  And, from what I hear from the people who were watching, I made a pretty good show in all of my bits, so I'm happy ( Read more... )
