Fay's Aftermath
One week after Fay, and my area of the county is under a Flood Warning. I've not actually seen any flooding myself since Friday night, when the road to my mother's house was half under water. Since then, however, the water level has gone down, and when I went by there yesterday, it was fine. Apparently there is flooding throughout this area, though.
And it's not hard to see why.
It's a little difficult to tell on this map, but my area of town may well be in the pink, meaning between 10 and 15 inches of rain. We're definitely in the dark red, but I'm not sure how far east on that map I am, so it's hard to say for sure. All I know is that we've definitely had a ton of rain this past week!
And now there's a new system out there, probably to be named a Tropical Depression or even Tropical Storm Gustav later today. Oy vey.
