Day 24 - Betaing - How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your story? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?
Answer: Um...I normally don't use a beta. Which makes me a bad writer, I know. Only 2 of my Buffy fics were beta'd from start to finish (and those were very early in my fic writing career), and I think...2? of my Merlin stories. And then mostly because it was required for whatever challenge I was writing for. Which means probably 95% of my fic has never seen a beta.
When I was hip-deep in Buffy fic, I lacked the patience to wait for anyone to read it before I posted. When I got done, I wanted it up THEN. Plus, to be honest (and I'm fully aware this is going to make me sound awful), I have a better eye for mistakes than most of the people I know. That's not to say I don't make them, because damn but I do, but I have a reputation amongst my editors for being one of their cleanest writers to edit for a reason.
