Day 10 - Pairings - Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?
Yep. As much of a Spuffy girl as I am, I do have a Buffy/Angel fic in my repertoire. It was for a ficathon on fractured fairytales, and the person requesting wanted Buffy/Faith/Angel with the Snow White & Rose Red fairy tale. The end result was Flight Patterns, a post S2 fic that I'm oddly quite proud of.
I'm being more careful in Merlin, lol. One of the pairings I don't want to write (and honestly read very little of) is Merlin/Arthur. Since so much of the fandom seems devoted to them, I'm more selective about where I get involved. I kind of wanted to do merlin_holidays, but going through the requests, there were only two out of 42 (at that time, since they stopped at 50) I felt remotely comfortable attempting. My writing time is too precious to play with those kinds of odds, lol.
