Chapter Eight

[1 month later]

Junsu’s phone vibrated in his back pocket and he quickly pulled it out and flipped it open. It was a text from no other than...

‘Hey Junsu ~ I miss you.’

Junsu hid his phone underneath the desk so his teacher wouldn’t see and texted back.

‘You’re so cheesy.’

A minute later, he received a reply from Yoochun.

‘It’s because you made me that way. Do you wanna go out this weekend?’

Junsu thought for a moment before replying back.

‘Where to?’

Junsu looked up as the teacher turned around to face the students and sneakily glanced down at his screen to read the new text.

‘I don’t know wherever you want to go. I really don’t care as long as I get a reward afterwards.’

Junsu raised an eyebrow at his phone.

‘Fine, but if you start touching me in weird places I’m gonna leave.’

Junsu shut his phone off and carefully placed it back in his pocket. He crossed his arms over the desk and tried to divert his attention back to what his teacher was teaching, but his mind drifted off to somewhere, or should I say, someone else.

“So the answer is … Junsu?” the teacher picked on him.

“What?”

“What’s the answer?”

“Uhh …” he replied dumbstruck and his teacher sighed.

“Junsu, I need to speak with you after class.”

“…Ok.”

~ ~ ~

“Junsu” his teacher spoke to him sternly, “you failed three tests in a row. How do you plan on making up for you’re loss?”

Three tests? Junsu could’ve sworn it was only the first test he failed.

“I … I just don’t get the lessons.”

“Then I suggest you get a tutor to help you in the areas you’re not so great in. We’re doing two more tests for this semester. If you fail any of them, you’ll fail my class and you’ll have to retake it again in summer school next year. Do you understand?”

Now that the teacher had made his point clear to Junsu, he realized that this was serious and he had to pay keen attention to his studies from now on.

“I understand, and I’ll start doing better in you’re classes, I promise.”

“Good, you may leave.”

~ ~ ~

‘Damn it’ Junsu thought, ‘I really need to stop day dreaming in class. I definitely do not want to repeat his class. But where the heck am I gonna get a tutor from in such short notice?’

“Hey Su” Yoochun greeted as he put his arm over his shoulders, “How was math?”

“I need a tutor” he said bluntly.

He looked at him surprised, “for math?”

Junsu nodded.

He chuckled, “Su, is there a subject that you can actually pass and get a good grade in?”

Junsu pouted, “Yes there is, I do great in my English and P.E classes.”

“You failed art.”

“That was because of you” he grunted.

“Forget I mentioned it” he retorted, “so, where are you gonna get a tutor from?”

“Aren’t you good at math?”

“Yeah, so?”

“Can you tutor me?”

“Oh, sure. When do you wanna start?”

“Could we maybe start today?”

"I don't see why not.”

Junsu smiled, “Great, we can over to my house and -“

“How about we go to mines? We might get distracted by JiHye if we go to Yunho’s house.”

“Fine, but there are rules.”

“Rules when we’re at my place?”

Junsu nodded, “first of all, touching me is off limits.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me ...” Yoochun stared at him like he was talking some kind of alien language.

“Nope, I’m serious. I really need to concentrate if I want to pass and the only way that’s gonna happen is if you don’t touch me.”

Yoochun smirked at him, “you mean you can’t concentrate under my touch. Do my fingers work magic on you or something?”

“No” Junsu said defensively, “and that’s not all. No sweet talking me either into doing something other than studying.”

“Fine, is that it?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

“Good” he said reaching out for his hand. “Then let’s go.”

~ ~ ~

“Damn Yoochun, you never told me you were rich?”

He chuckled, “I thought you would catch on from our first date.”

Junsu looked around the place and studied every single corner of the house. “This is amazing.”

“Thanks” Yoochun said sliding his jacket off from his shoulders. “Are you hungry?"

“A little” he admitted shyly.

He smiled, “then let’s see what’s there to eat in the kitchen.”

He led the way and Junsu followed along, even more amazed at the way the kitchen's entry way was designed.

“Whoa, this place is ...” Junsu stopped midway in his sentence and sniffed the air, “what’s that smell?”

“It’s home baked cookies with a secret ingredient” a middle-aged woman walked into the kitchen and announced, “would you like some?”

“Sure.”

“This is my friend Junsu” Yoochun introduced the two, “and this is my mom.”

“It’s nice to meet you” she said handing over a plate with three cookies over to him.

Junsu gladly accepted them, “thanks.”

“We’re gonna be in my room. I’m tutoring Junsu in math, so he might stay a bit late.”

“No problem, but don’t forget tonight’s a school night.”

“Yeah, we know. We’re gonna go now” he said getting up from the chair. “Come’ on Junsu.”

Junsu got up as well, “thanks again for the cookies Mrs. Park.”

She chuckled, “no problem. If you boys need anything else don’t hesitate to ask alright?”

“Sure.”

~ ~ ~

“Gee Yoochun, you’re mom is so nice.”

“Yeah, I know.”

“How lucky are you” he took another bite of his cookie, “I mean you’re life seems so perfect. I wish I was you right now.”

“Trust me, no you don’t.”

“Why?”

“Just trust me ok? My life isn’t as perfect as you think it is.”

Junsu wanted to ask him why he thought that way but decided to let it go.

“Ok, let’s get started” he said reaching in his bag for his textbook. “Let’s begin from chapter 4.”

“You need a geometry set to do this” he pointed out as he scanned the page.

Junsu quickly looked back in his bag for one, “I think I left mines in school” he stated when he failed to find one.

“That’s alright, you can borrow mine. I think I have one in the closet near the dinning room. I’ll be right back.”

“Ok, and thanks.”

Yoochun smiled at him once more before leaving the room. Junsu got up from his bed and looked around the place. Yoochun’s room was extremely neat for a guy and so organized. Everything appeared to be in its place no matter where he looked. He stumbled upon his desk and noticed a bottle of pills lying next to his lamp.

“What’s this?” he asked curiously and picked it up and read the label.

‘Park Yoochun

Take 2 tablets twice daily after eating

2 Refills only

Quantity 120 tablets’

“I wonder what this is for” he thought out loud.

Without his knowledge, Yoochun walked back in the room and saw what Junsu was looking at. When he was close to reading what the prescription was for, Yoochun snatched the bottle away from him.

“Don’t touch that!” he snapped.

“I-I’m sorry.”

“Don’t you know not to touch other people’s things without permission?!”

“I -“

“Then don’t touch any of my things next time ok?” he said with a stern look on his face.

“ … You’re right, I’m sorry. It was wrong for me to do that.”

Yoochun sighed as he realized what he did, “I didn’t mean to yell at you so harshly, but please … don’t go through my things when I’m not here.”

This made Junsu even more curious to know why he didn’t want him to read the label on his pills.

“I won’t, I promise.”

He flashed him a bright smile and acted like nothing happened just two seconds ago, “ok then, let’s get back to work.”
