Last night in Paris

Have ate far too much today...I may have to be winched out of here...

Yesterday I did the open bus tour thing as I didn't do it last year and it's an efficient way to tick off all the sights. I disembarked to see the Perfume museum, mainly as I needed to pee. The museum is tiny but with a great little collection of antique bottles, vintage packaging and raw scents to sniff.

I also visited Victor Hugo's house. I don't know a huge amount about Hugo except he's a hugely revered figure in France so the house was an interesting insight into his life. I learned he refused to live in France until the Republic was restored, had a wife and a mistress (in typical French fashion!) and was a keen interior designer which annoyed his wife but not his mistress.

Today I did the Musee D'Orsay. Like the Louvre it's difficult to really see anything as it's full of idiots taking photos. Also like the Louvre you're best bet is to steer clear of the famous stuff. They've got quite a lot of Art Nouveau which I liked the look off. They also currently have an exhibit on the male dude currently on. It may not surprise you to know the willy in art has gotten considerably bigger since the renaissance. My favourite piece though was a hairy guy recreating Marilyn Monroe's naked on a red bed photo.

This evening I attended a piano recital by a hot young man from the conservatorie. His rendition of Liszt's Mephisto Valse was most...invigorating! Especially as he was rocking the whole disheveled artistic bad boy look.

Back home tomorrow. I've been told at reception tonight there will be champagne at breakfast tomorrow so it's not all bad!
