Events of Note

I didn't get the chance before I left for Paris to round up what I had been up to so here goes!

Film wise I have recently seen on DVD Warm Bodies which I thought was sweet and amusing and much better than I thought a zombie rom-com would be. At the cinema I have seen Prisoners which I thought was an above par thriller with excellent acting from all except Marie Bello, who is always awful and I don't know how she continues to get work. It was somewhat reminiscent of Signs only much more subtle.

I attended a performance of Mozart's Requiem and kept thinking of the Futurama episode where Fry writes an opera for Leela with hands he's borrowed from the Robot Devil. This is a good thing.

I also attended National Theatre for Scotland and RSC joint production Dunsinane which was an epilogue of sorts to Macbeth. It had many positive aspects but mostly what I will remember is Siobhan Redmond's awful Highland accent. Dear Scottish thesps, please just use your own accent when doing anything Macbeth related, lots of love, me.

This weekend I entertained gingerpig. Highlights included the current exhibit of Davinci medical drawings at Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Zoo. My favorite animal was a delightful koala bear named Yabbra who seemed to be enjoying himself immensely! I am also willing to adopt the unhappy jaguar they are looking to rehome but I don't know how Bartholomew would feel about that...
