Going away cards
So the director of the library is leaving in two days and I'm staring at the going-away card trying to think of something to write.
Everyone else signed so seriously... so I'd feel like an ass if I put down something like "Make leaving us worth-it. Or else." or "I'm no good at sappy stuff so just imagine I wrote something sweet and enjoy yourself."
Gah. This reminds me of signing yearbooks all over again. I could never think of good things to write then either... everything either sounds too over-the-top or like you're an asshole who doesn't care.
Ah well. I'll probably end up just putting down something along the lines of "It was great working with you, I wish you the best in the future."
Blah... the sounds hollow and fake even to me. And I wrote it.
