"The Shutdown" - Christmas to New Years!

Jan 02, 2020 15:28

Back at work after my Christmas shutdown =( But it was a nice break, which I never accomplish as much as I think I will beforehand. I thought I'd make so much progress on the reading and gaming fronts, but that seems to never be the case, although I did finish 1Q84 and played lots of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 ( Read more... )

holiday, list, pets, gaming, pictures, movies, books

Saruman probably didn't enjoy the ball (Palantir) dropping!

I would probably rank
ESB > ANH > TFA > R1 > RotJ > TMP > TRS > TLJ > RotS > AotC > HS

The last few are pretty interchangeable. HS is last because of how pointless it is. But at least it's better written (dialogue) and acted than RotS and AotC. The middle tier bunch all have their many issues but have random good parts.

Looking at your list, we probably just switch a spot or two here and there, but generally it's similar at least. Nothing seems to move greatly like... you loved something that I hated, etc.

So no need to argue about it later, then, eh?

You went deep on The Expanse - that's a lot of reading! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

IG-11 was my mvp for The Mandalorian.

Thanks for the recommendation. I am always looking for "good" space operas and science fiction, in general.

I was actually talking about The Mandalorian yesterday and how it was good, not great. The setting and characters are definitely the best parts of it.

if you want to do moving targets i went to https://www.lvsclays.com/ twice. it is quite fun, but kinda long (like 2-3 hours).

Side note: we can't tell if they are super hick, or progressively non-hick. they had a sign in front that said "women welcome" or something. So is this sexist that they would even need to put that, or are they signaling to the hick region that "we are not hicks"

Hugh was saying that he went to a place that sounded like a lesser Shoot Las Vegas around the Pocanos. And he said he shot clay pigeons and missed every one.

I'd guess they're trying to increase their clients to include women, but who knows.

One interesting note for Gun For Hire is that if you are male, you need to be with a friend to shoot, but if you are female, you can shoot by yourself.

the first time i went each station had 2 clays, so we did a pull for 1 , then the other, then a double. i cant remember actual numbers but it was something like 38% for singles but when i couldnt think and did the doubles i was like 50%. it is very satisfying to do a quick double shot and also to shatter the clays

i dont think they ever didnt allow women, i think they thought people just assumed.

I'd try just to try. Although I think Angie doesn't like shotguns, but shooting clay pigeons might interest her since they're moving.

And I meant more like... targeted advertisement since I'd guess most ranges are very male dominant, but maybe they're just too hick or not hick enough.
