That was the size of my waist the year I graduated HS and weighed what I thought was a very fat 190 pounds.  As of today it is my waist size again, hoever this time I wheigh nearly 60 pounds more than I did back then. All I can guess is that perhaps now I have more muscle mass than I did then, because my belly still seems much larger to me now.

I hated how I looked for years, but not enough to want to do anything about it. Yesterday I weighed on the scales we have in our fitness facility (small room) at work and they said I was down 35 pounds. Today at my endocrinologist visit, his scales confirmed it. 35 pounds down since late March.

Other good things - my A1c fell from 9.6 to 7.1. It is still on the high side right now, but that is a vast ( Read more... )

 After some thought and consideration, I am takingtheoctothorpe 's suggestion and dropping  corn from my diet. I am reading labels to make sure that there is no corn content in any of the few grain products I have purchased lately. I thought I would try something I never have before. I have cut out as many of the "starchy" carbs as I can stand out of my diet. No potatoes or chips have crossed my lip, save for a few nacho chips for a taco salad, but they are whole grain.
