I have been sick as crap for several days now, but after lounging around, sleeping on the sofa nearly all day and generally wallowing in my own misery, I decided to get a shower late this afternoon. The fever has broken and I did not feel nearly as weak as I did yesterday.
Well, this got me pretty well energized, so I got dressed and headed out to return a Redbox $1 video (The Women - new version not the classic from 1939) and decided to stop at Super Target to get a few things. Note to self - never go grocery shopping after basically eating soup for 3 days and barely eating anything at all since I was feeling so bad. I realized I was STARVING while in the store and every piece of junk I saw on the shelf started looking good. I forced myself to leave before it got too bad, but I did make it out with and just got through eating one of those Duncan Hines individual microwave chocolate caramel cake thingies.
I did make it to the doctor yesterday even with all the ice in the DFW Metroplex. The roads were fine, but trees and powerlines had a lot of ice on them. The power even went out here for awhile in Cedar Hill, but came back on right after dark. I left the umpteen candles burning though as it still flickered in and out for about 30 minutes. All the candles were scented of course, so the odor got to be a bit of a bother for me and my lungs in their delicate condition. Oh, the diagnosis is a sinus infection with irritative bronchitis. Any weird odor, gas or other environmental irritant is setting me off on a coughing fit now. No smokey bars or other such places for me for awhile. I have an antibiotic and a steroidal inhaler to use as well as OTC cold meds to help with the symptoms. Taken alltogether I am pretty well looped out on them all.
Here are a couple of photos from the ice yesterday taken outside the house...
And one of
sparkygearhead 's dog Sunny. She is wearing the little suit since she is, as we used to say on the farm, "in season" and has a little shield inside to keep her from making a mess anywhere. She was a whipped puppy when this one was made.
