Day 05. A song that reminds you of someone
This song does not specifically remind me of someone, but it does instantly bring me back to a specific time in my life - high school...
However, if I get back to high school I can not help but think of (still) my best friend, Luanne. I met her when my family moved back to NC in 1973 when I started 5th grade and by the end of the year we were good friends. By the end of HS we were best friends. I can not imagine how I would have made it through the horror that was my teen years without her friendship, even if she had no idea what I was going through at the time. We stuck with each other through my coming out and move to Texas and her divorce from husband one. Still, one of the first things I do every time I go to visit my parents is to make sure we can get together for a half day or so. It does not hurt that her mom is one of my favorite teachers ever either, but glad I still have her in my life...
