That I was half happy with. Have a look:
I filled in all the holes and cracks
sanded down my imperfections
and primed over the colours of our love
I chose the new colours of my life
arbitrarily from raninbow booklets
pouring my new beginning out of metal cans
I swept up the dust of our everyday lives
drowned the grime in hot suds
wiped away the footprints
until only mine remianed
one set of tracks across the wet floor
I drew a line in our possessions
shredded your likeness with the old bills and receipts
wiped your image from the mirror
and reclaimed my side of the bed.
I filled in all the holes and cracks
sanded down my imperfections
and glossed over my past with layers of paint.
