Today is the first weekend in December and by tradition in our family that is when we decorate the house in a suitably festive fashion, so that's what we've been doing. The rain continues. It's not that we're having torrential downpours for the most part. It's just incredibly persistent. So much so that places are starting to flood. Olympics coverage continues to dominate the TV, newspapers, internet and essentially every other media format that might be available. I think a lot of people in the UK have almost gone a little into shock at how well Team GB are doing. We've got a long weekend here in the UK; it's the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Alas, the weather is not as nice as it was earlier in the week, but there are still plenty of street parties planned.
