This was a good year. I got to be with my family, and that, to me, is the best gift of all. My sister hosted for the first time and the food was great. Having an Italian brother-in-law and incorporating his traditions made for some pleasant changes, especially regarding food. Bring on the Christmas lasagna. :D ( Read more... )

The Mummers parade is still on. Thank goodness. They're cutting the 2 Street portion, though, but at least we're getting something. It just wouldn't be a new year without drunken cross-dressing string bands marching through Center City. :D

Yes, even in Japan you can find an "Irish Pub". They were serving Jameson and Guinness, and that's what really counts.
