So I found some other interesting things about the school system here. It turns out that the teachers move with the students. So when the students move up a grade the teachers do also. I don’t know how I feel about this…on one hand you really get to know your teachers but on the other you are stuck with the same learning style. I guess I find it rather interesting. This explains why when the students who graduated last year come back to visit the first year teachers are the ones they visit with. I had been wondering why the third year teachers were not excited to see the former students and it turns out that is because the former students had been taught by the this years first years teachers for their entire time at the Junior High. Wow, I guess you do learn something new everyday.
Last night Andrea and I finished watching Fruits Basket. As much as I enjoyed Prince of Tennis I think Fruits Basket is better. It was cute, funny, and yet depressing at the same time. I am now going to have to start reading the manga of Fruits Basket because the anime ended after the first season. It turns out the main animator got really sick and they decided not to continue with the anime. Andrea is loaning me her copies of the manga and then I will start buying the new volumes as they come out. Next on the anime list is Full Metal Alchemist, which will be followed by Honey and Clover.
Three anime finished - two in progress one pending:
- Prince of Tennis - Finished - now waiting for the Nationals TV specials to start in March
- Weiss Kreuz - Finished
- Fruits Basket - Finished
- Full Metal Alchemist - In progress - to be finished after Fruits Baskets
- Honey and Clover - Pending
- Then what ever Andrea recommends next
The Manga reading currently stands at:
Two in progress - one pending
- Prince of Tennis - still being written - currently reading
- Fruits Baskets - still being written - starting
- Boys Over Flowers - pending - not too sure if I want to read it
